People working with brain injury survivors and/or their families


Northamptonshire is fortunate to have numerous specialist brain injury services, many more than other parts of the UK.  All local services are within the directory.

If you are working with an individual or need to locate services for someone in Northants  who has received a brain injury they are likely to be eligible to receive support from local statutory services.  The NHS brain injury team is based at the Isebrook Hosptial in Wellingborough but covers the whole of the county.  Information about current service provision along with inclusion criteria can be obtained by calling 01536 494144.

The brain injury team will be offer assessments and the either provide on-going community rehabilitation, if community rehabilitation isn’t appropriate they can provide advice about other appropriate services.

In addition to local statutory provision, Headway also offers an excellent service to local people within the county.  Headway provides support for local people who have sustained a brain injury and can also provide advice for families.  The two local headway services are based in Irthlingborough and Northampton (Kings Heath).  More information can be obtained from:
